CERITIFIED MUSIC THERAPIST ( CONTRACT – Maternity Leave Coverage)
We are currently seeking an empathetic and personable individual, with strong organizational skills to manage and facilitate our long-standing Rhythm & Word Music Therapy program, working directly with students grade 9 to 12 at Mountainside Secondary School.
Rhythm & Word uses music therapy to support the well-being and personal development of students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and underserved groups (including People of Colour, Indigenous Peoples, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, and people living with disabilities).
Through individual and group sessions, participants develop key skills such as emotional regulation, accountability, trust, respect, and positive self-expression. Students can learn to play a number of different musical instruments, or learn vocalization, songwriting, and recording within a supportive and inclusive environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a temporary contract position, for maternity coverage. The position is an average of 16.5 hours per week, working on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (excluding statutory holidays).
Paid Training will take place March 9, 2026 to March 11, 2026.
The contract agreement will start on March 30, 2026 and end on June 25, 2026
REMUNERATION:
Contract Fee: Preparation/ Training – $26.5/hour | Teaching – $52.50/hour
Expected Start Date: March 9, 2026

We are currently accepting volunteer applications for Camp Creative Spring Break 2026
If you’re an energetic volunteer who enjoys interacting with kids aged 6-11, our Creative Camp is the perfect fit for you.
We have two camps that run from 8am – 4pm, Monday – Friday.
Week 1: March 16 – 20
Week 2: March 23 – 27
Each week is packed with a fun range of projects, from clay sculpting and fabric dyeing to drama games and music. No two days are the same; each session is uniquely shaped by the skills and passions of that camp’s lead instructor.
This position works with youth, volunteers 18+ will need to obtain a criminal record check.
