Events and Exhibitions Assistant (Event Coordinator) – Canada Summer Jobs

The Event Coordinator position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the planning and
facilitation of community arts events and exhibitions, working with emerging and professional artists, artisans,
and musicians to create intriguing and meaningful experiences for the local community. The Events and
Exhibitions Assistant (Event Coordinator) reports to the Community Events Manager and the Exhibitions
Manager.
With the Exhibitions Manager, the assistant will support in the organization of exhibitions at CityScape
Community ArtSpace and the Art in the Community program at various venues. With the Events Manager, the assistant will support in the planning, organization, and execution of community events that take place between June and October in a number of different locations.

Remuneration: $20.00 per hour, 30 hour per week for 16 weeks

Cultural Mapping & Marketing Assistant (Cultural Geographer) – Canada Summer Jobs

The North Shore Culture Compass’ overall objective is to connect residents & visitors with the history, art, & stories of the North Shore, through a navigational map featuring points of interest & an interactive treasure hunt app. The Assistant will have the opportunity to gain experience in the planning & production of community-centered marketing campaigns as well as adapting GIS mapping skills to a cultural community context, through community outreach & treasure hunt activity development.

The Cultural Mapping & Marketing Assistant (Cultural Geographer) reports to the Marketing & Social Media Manager. With the Marketing & Social Media Manager, the assistant will support in the development, tracking, & evaluation of multiple digital & print marketing campaigns for several unique programs & upcoming events, multiple gallery exhibitions, & Camp Creative summer camps. The position will also support participation in community outreach activities within the region, during the placement.

The position will also assist in regular map maintenance of our secondary website, the North Shore Culture Compass, the addition of new cultural assets to the map, content creation for community outreach campaigns, & the creation & development of treasure hunt activities for the North Shore Culture Quest app.

Camp Creative Assistant (Art Coordinator) – Canada Summer Jobs

The Camp Creative Assistant (Art Coordinator – Education) will organize, administer, promote, and facilitate arts education programs for children 6-11 years old held in July and August. Camp Creative offers week-long creative experiences in small groups (maximum 12 participants) with different artists/instructors throughout the week. Through Camp Creative, North Van Arts offers art instruction and engagement opportunities for young people in a variety of artistic disciplines, including visual arts, drama, writing, singing, songwriting, and movement. Professional artist instructors with small class sizes support the development and delivery art classes to ensure a positive experience for all.

The Camp Creative Assistant (Art Coordinator – Education) reports to the Arts Education Manager and will support the artists/instructors in managing and preparing supplies and equipment, assisting children with art activities, cleaning up and overseeing outside time and lunch/snack breaks, and supporting administrative tasks related to registration, communication, and logistics, gaining valuable experience in these areas.

Remuneration: $20.00 per hour, 30 hour per week for 10 weeks
