GALLERY ATTENDANTS

(ONGOING CALL)

We are looking for more volunteers to be Gallery Attendants. You can volunteer for a weekly position or an as needed basis.

All Gallery Attending positions are at CityScape Community ArtSpace where North Van Arts offices are located.

2022 Opportunities:

Responsibilities: 

• Watching over The Shop items, the art works in each exhibition, and CityScape Community Art Space in general, to oversee all visitors’ activity, helping us ensure the safety of our community
• Helping us complete day-to-day items like:
  • Folding pamphlets  
  • Wrapping art (or assisting staff wrapping) 
  • Keeping the front entrance tidy 
• Following our community members on social media (if applicable) 
• Counting and noting the number of visitors entering CityScape Community Art Space
• Instructing visitors how to sign up for our e-bulletin by email to hear about all our opportunities and offerings
• Learning about each exhibition and The Shop at CityScape including: 
  • How visitors can buy art in each exhibition or in The Shop 
  • How visitors can learn more about the artists featured in each 
  • How visitors can follow the artists in each on social media 
  • How visitors can apply to North Van Arts’ Calls for Artists 

Requirements: 

• Ability to socialize with all members of the artistic community (speakers of multiple languages are often helpful) 
• Interest or passion for the arts, in any discipline
• Commitment to punctuality, equal respect, and to growing awareness of our mission statement, helping us implement it 

Hours:

• Usually a weekly 2.5 hour shift (ex. Monday-Friday 9:30AM-12:00PM; 12:00PM-2:30PM; 2:30PM-5:00PM or Saturdays 12:00-2:30PM; 2:30-5PM)
