CityScape Community ArtSpace
Facility Upgrade

We are very excited to announce that some well-needed upgrades are coming to your community artspace!

Since 2001, CityScape Community ArtSpace has presented the work of thousands of artists within the simplicity of the ‘white box’ gallery. We are undertaking upgrades to the space in order to:

  • improve acoustics
  • improve heating/cooling
  • improve physical accessibility
  • support audio/video presentations

The work

The HVAC system will be upgraded to gallery standards to bring ambient noise levels down to acceptable levels.  Acoustic panelling (sound blades) will be installed in the ceiling area to help reduce reverberation and to make the room a better video and live performance venue. Automatic doors will be installed to improve physical accessibility.

During the closure January 21 – February 11, 2019

The facility will be closed to the general public while the systems are being installed, however staff will still be available by phone and by email.
Art Rental – If you would like to rent or return rented art work during the closure please phone the office and we will make arrangements.

North Van Arts International Film Series – Tickets are available online, by phone and can be picked up in the theatre lobby for the screening of What They Had on Jan 30 and Edge of the Knife on Feb 13.

Arts Education – Registration continues online or over the phone.  Please call the office if you have any questions.

North Shore Art Crawl – We will be busy producing the brochure during the closure.  Registered participants will receive communications through email regarding pick up for promotional materials, which we expect to happen once the facility re-opens in February.
