Join, artist and mycologist, Willoughby Arevalo to learn about local fungi and plants and how they interact with other members of their ecosystems, including humans. We will incorporate artistic activities, including stories and drawing.
Willoughby has been leading Art & Mycology at at Mountainside Secondary – a program that uses various visual, experiential, movement, literary, and performance art practices focused on fungi to build awareness of how all our lives are connected in society and the natural world. This last spring, we invited Willoughby to guide a walk with Traditional Knowledge Keeper T’uy’t’tanat Cease Wyss, as part of Feathers & Fungi, and that walk sold out in minutes. We are very excited to invite Willoughby back this fall for a Art, Fungi & Plant Walk.
Want to see Willoughby talk about mushrooms before the walk – check out these two videos.
