|“Tell me what you collect, tell me how you collect, and I will tell you who you are.” Jean Willy Mestach – Artist/Collector (1926 – 2014)
As the Covid 19 Pandemic has confined us to our homes, this workshop celebrates and explores the meanings of the objects we choose for our domestic settings. These objects have, at times, provided solace and reassurance during uncertain periods. They represent uniquely personal choices, familial ties, tastes and aspirations.
Choose one, two or several special objects from your home and create a paper collage of your collection. You can use printed photos of items from your collection, or choose to re-create those items through sketching and collage. We will celebrate our choices by creating an artwork using recycled paper collage from any unwanted papers, books and magazines found within our spaces.
Learn how to select collage material, create a composition, cut and tear paper collage and finally commit your image to paper.
Class will be delivered live online via Zoom, and for those who cannot attend live a Zoom recording link will be sent out after class.
