Intro to Monotype Printing

This course will focus on colour, texture, layering and play through the technique of Monotype printmaking. Students will experiment with different approaches to making prints including stenciling, texture transfers, and both additive and reductive mark making. To end the course, students will practice colour theory and learn to make a multi-layered colour print.

Registration is per household.

Class is delivered live via Zoom, and the class recording will be emailed to participants the following day.

  • 3 sheets of BFK Rives Lightweight (180gsm), available at Opus for $5.30 per sheet
  • Opus 8”x10” Monoprint Plate, $11
  • Sponge
  • Metal or wooden spoon

  • Printmaking Inks (Either purchase full set from Jackson Art or order Ink kit listed in ticket options below. Ink kits will be available for pickup from North Van Arts one week prior to class start)
