Submissions for the 2025 Anonymous Art Show is now OPEN !
The Anonymous Art Show is North Van Arts annual fundraising event, where hundreds of 8″ x 8″ unique artworks created by local emerging and professional artists are sold for $120 each. This is a wonderful first exhibition for all community members, as the artwork is only slightly juried. If an artist only submits one artwork, the piece will be in the exhibition as long as it meets the submission requirements.
The magic of this show is that each artist remains anonymous until after their work has sold. Participating artists are required to sign only the back of the canvas to keep their identity unknown. Once a painting is purchased, it is removed from the wall, revealing the artists name to the buyer.
The Anonymous Art Show is an important fundraiser for North Van Arts, and we encourage you to take part and join in the fun!

Submission Requirements
- Work must be submitted on 8″ x 8″ canvas or wood panel with a depth of 1.5″ or more.
- Both can be purchased from Opus Art Supplies:
- We accept artworks completed in a variety of 2D mediums, as long as they are submitted on an 8″ x 8″ canvas or wood panel.
- Artworks that involve 3D elements (extending more than 2″ in front of the canvas or wood panel, or artworks that extend any distance beyond the 8″ x 8″ border) will not be not accepted.
- Please limit to 1 application form per artist. We accept a minimum of 1 artwork and a maximum of 3 artworks per application.
- We cannot accept submissions by mail.
- Please ONLY put your name on the back for your artworks, NOT the front or side.
- Please do not post about your artwork on your website or social media channels before or during the show. All artwork has to remain anonymous.

Renumeration
- The Anonymous Art Show is North Van Arts annual fundraiser.
- This year we have chosen to raise the price of artwork to $120 per piece to reflect inflation and cost of materials and supplies.
- All accepted artworks will be sold for $120 each before the sale, and after this time, on Friday, December 12, artwork will be sold for $60 each.
- North Van Arts will retain 50% of final sale price for each sold artwork.
- Artists have the choice to receive the other 50% as an e-transfer remuneration or may choose to donate their portion of the sale to North Van Arts
- In order to maximize the funds raised, and give opportunity to purchase art to those with lower incomes, we will introduce a “sale” on artwork towards the end of the show.
- Upon the end of the fundraising event, any unsold artworks will need to be picked up from CityScape Community ArtSpace by the artist.
