1) Queer Bash
North Van Arts is seeking emerging, mid-career, and established artists who identify as members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community for the upcoming exhibition Queer Bash. We are seeking works that explore the duality of pride as protest and parade, as celebration and condemnation.

2) Pushing Boundaries: Call guest Guest Curator
North Van Arts would like to engage a First Nations/Métis/Inuit Guest Curator to co-curate Pushing Boundaries 2023 alongside North Van Arts. This position will work closely with North Van Arts’ Exhibitions Manager, undertaking artist research, community outreach, adjudication, artist liaison, promotion, and the curatorial display/presentation of Pushing Boundaries 2023.

Exhibition Proposals - CityScape Community ArtSpace
North Van Arts is currently accepting exhibition proposals for 2024 season at CityScape Community ArtSpace. CityScape Community ArtSpace always shows group exhibitions. This calendar tells the story of the region through artistically rendered images of locations, places, or scenes that are recognizably in North Vancouver or West Vancouver, on part of the territories of the Squamish Nation and Tsleil-Waututh Nation.

Arts in the Garden - Visual Artists
Each year, usually in the winter, we release a call for visual artists who create in 2D or 3D, to display their work, demonstrate their techniques/processes, offer hands-on activities to visitors, and/or provide unique artistic interventions in the garden. We are also interested in artists who do land art and may create ephemeral work for this event.

Arts in the Garden - Musicians
Each garden is carefully curated with visual artists, musicians and performers, creating a unique atmosphere in each outdoor space and an unforgettable celebration connecting the community to nature through art.
Musicians will be selected for each garden with the primary purpose of audience engagement and creating a unique atmosphere in each garden. We encourage musicians from a wide variety of musical genres and diverse backgrounds, from soloists to small groups (3-4 musicians).

Arts in the Garden - Performers
Each garden is carefully curated with visual artists, musicians and performers, creating a unique atmosphere in each outdoor space and an unforgettable celebration connecting the community to nature through art. Performers will be selected for each garden with the primary purpose audience engagement. Examples include, but are not limited to: dance, circus, spoken word, theatrical, roving performers.

Call for Makers - The Shop at CityScape
We aim to showcase small, hand-made items with reasonably accessible prices (less than $50) and a broad demographic appeal. The Shop at CityScape is better suited to objects (pottery, jewellery, glass works, candles, soap etc.) rather than photography, painting and other forms of 2D works.

Exhibition Proposals - Art in the Community
North Van Arts (North Vancouver Community Arts Council) is currently accepting submissions for our Art in the Community Programme for 2024 Season. The Art in the Community Programme, run by North Van Arts has a mandate to celebrate and enable emerging and professional artists through exhibitions in public spaces, which serves to promote artists, to increase public awareness of the visual arts, and to make original work by local artists accessible to the public.

Call for Fall -2023 Instructors - Arts Education Opens May 1 2023
Fall 2023 instructor call will open up Monday May 1st 2023. North Van Arts offers arts education in the form of courses, workshops, and camps programming for all ages, interests and abilities. When planning upcoming offerings, we will post calls for artist/instructors, often in spring for fall.
Registration - North Shore Art Crawl
The North Shore Art Crawl is an annual event that features artists in approachable and accessible art venues throughout the North Shore Region, from Deep Cove to Lions Bay. The 2022 event is being rescheduled to take place Fall 2022.

Call for Artists - Anonymous Art Show
Since 2003, the Anonymous Art Show annually exhibits over 600, 8” x 8” artworks from 300 emerging and established artists. Each artwork is $100 and proceeds are split 50/50 between the artist and North Van Arts. Participating artists can choose to retain or donate the proceeds from each sold artwork to North Van Arts. Online submissions are accepted in October.

Call for Artists - Art Rental Programme 2024
Selection of artwork for the Art Rental Programme is by adjudication. The jury process takes place annually in the Fall and is announced in the bi-weekly e-bulletin and posted on our Call for Artists page. Learn more about participating in the Art Rental Programme as an artist here.
