Through a partnership with the City of North Vancouver we programme an exhibition space at City Hall that focuses on installation art, a form of three-dimensional sculptural work designed to intrigue, animate, inspire, and transform the perception of a space.

The inviting atmosphere of the open concept atrium lends itself perfectly to a designated contemporary art space. The City has allocated a 30 foot long space and outfitted it for three-dimensional diverse media installations. The dynamic exhibitions are free to the public and will feature an emerging or established artist approximately every eight weeks.
The North Vancouver City Hall’s renovation (2013) which re-purposed the former City Library building using sustainable building practices has been recognized with a design award from the Architectural Institute of BC and a Lieutenant Governor Award of Excellence that recognizes design excellence.
This new exhibition space is an addition to the NVCAC’s very successful Art in the Community Programme. In addition to the new Atrium Gallery this programme facilitates the District Library Gallery (Lynn Valley Main Library) and the District Foyer Gallery (North Vancouver District Hall). It is designed to enhance public space, create interest, and enable emerging artists to gain exposure and experience exhibiting in a public environment while exposing the public to art in non-traditional environments.
