Next CreativeScape: Art-Inspired Poetry, Thu Jan 25, 6-8pm
For the first CreativeScape of 2018, the North Vancouver Community Arts Council will be hosting its first spoken word poetry workshop for all levels of experience.
6pm-7:00pm – everyone is encouraged to drop in, get inspired by the art in our current exhibition, the Art Rental Show, and write their own poetry.
7pm – Andrew Warner will be facilitating an Open Mic where poets or non-poets can read their newly-written work. And it’s all free!
About Andrew Warner:
Andrew is an actor, writer, and spoken word artist, from North Vancouver. He was 2014’s provincial youth poetry champion and a member of the Vancouver team that won nationals later that August. A lover of pyjamas, rainy days, and 4:00am starts, he writes about travels, relationships, and advocates mental wellness. His poetry has reached audiences in Berlin, New York, Seattle, Montréal, Portland, and more. After becoming the youngest poet to win a provincial and national championship in the same year (2014), he tours internationally and publishes poetry books like his latest release: Not for Everyone, But for Someone, a literary peek into the love-life of someone with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and a weird sense of humour (available in the Gift Box with other poetry books from local authors).
CreativeScape is the place to share your skills and learn from others in a casual atmosphere. Invite your friends and make new ones at this free, creative drop-in. We strive to make this a welcoming and inclusive evening where community is nurtured through a shared love for creating. We hope you will join us.
