Dreamscapes Scapes- landscapes, seascapes, dreamscapes – images that are born from a deep and intimate experience of the places where Diego has had the fortune to live: the temperate rain forest and seashore of the Pacific Northwest and the Amazon tropical rain forest.  Abstract and organic, these textile paintings evoke the deepness of the ocean and life at the encounter between water and earth.  Flow, blood, sap, tears, rain, life.
We are living water.

Diego lives and works in Gibsons, BC, and Calanoa, Colombian Amazon. As an artist and designer whose work turns around the dialogue between humankind and nature, Diego works in different media: photography, video, painting, artist’s books and sculpture. With a background in biology and anthropology, his lifelong interest in natural history and tribal cultures are reflected in all of his work.  In his 40 years of experience in nature and ethnographic photography, he has completed projects commissioned by the Smithsonian Institution Press, National Geographic, Planeta Humano, Artes de México and some other international publishers. His work has been shown in solo and collective exhibitions in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa. Most recently his work was featured in Water, the 2016 Sechelt Arts Festival.
