Community cultural events help bridge cultures and build strong communities through the arts, featuring visual and performing arts, and encouraging public engagement.

Feathers & Fungi at Wild Bird Trust of BC
Feathers & Fungi 2022
Maplewood Flats, 2649 Dollarton Highway, North Vancouver

celebrating the natural world and the relationship between birds and fungi, in partnership with the  Wild Bird Trust of BC

For over 20 years, North Van Arts has hosted Arts in the Garden in private North Shore gardens. As the event evolves, we have begun featuring public garden spaces as part of our efforts to work towards rendering the event more accessible. In 2022, we had the pleasure of partnering with Wild Bird Trust to create an all-ages event to inspire curiosity and wonder about the interactions of birds and fungi.

Just like other Arts in the Garden locations, at Maplewood Flats visitors had opportunities to engage with art and nature: at the Coast Salish Plant Nursery, at the Coast Salish Plant Exhibition, and on the trails. Unique to this location were interactive workshops that took place over the weekend.
