Joyce Ozier: Little Picasso Series
October 3 - December 3
District Library Gallery
Artist Reception Saturday, Dec 1, 2-4pm

The Little Picasso Series is a body of work that was made by Joyce Ozier and local children, whereby parents have commissioned Joyce to create a one off, professional art work in collaboration with their child, capturing the early stages of their creativity.

Joyce Ozier is known for her abstract painting and strong use of colour. Her passion for colour has been smoldering since she was an undergraduate at Skidmore College (USA).

Joyce obtained a Masters in Theatrical Design from the University of British Columbia, Joyce’s career has taken her from theatre set design to award-winning retail display. Retiring in 2009 from WOW! WINDOWS Display & Design Ltd, a company that she founded and built with James Williams, Joyce has been painting full time and, in 2014, was awarded a Painting Residency at The Banff Centre for the Arts.

Her paintings have been the focus solo exhibitions, as well as numerous group exhibits. Joyce’s work is held in collections in Canada, the US, the UK, and Switzerland, as well as in the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation Art Collection. Joyce is represented by Vancouver’s Fazakas Gallery.
