Susanne Kestner-Aiello began her practice as a studio-based figure and portrait painter, working from life and mostly with oil on canvas, however, during the last ten years, her attention has mostly turned to en plein air painting. Susanne enjoys painting different Vancouver-area landscapes, and plein air painting now comprises most of her work.
Travels have taken Susanne from Europe to South America, to the USA and Canada, where she has lived since 1979. Susanne studied at Atelier Josse in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and continued her formal education in the USA and in Canada. She attended the University of Alberta and the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, B.C.
A painter for 30 years, she has exhibited in several galleries and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Alberta and in British Columbia. Susanne also has a strong commitment to fundraising events. Her work can be found in private and public collections throughout Canada, Argentina, and Germany.
