Firebelly Clayworks

Clay as a tactile medium gives great opportunity for creative exploration.  Firing in an atmospheric kiln allows for surprises in the glaze, a rich colour in darker clays, and encourages Suzan to experiment with colour.  She enjoys the sculptural qualities when altering wheel thrown forms, as well as the pleasure of having a satisfying functional object, and strives to incorporate the grace of the natural world.
Suzan Marczak is a Vancouver clay artist whose work explores the junction of creativity and ergonomics. Originally from Montreal, Marczak attended the studio arts program at Capilano College, and graduated from Emily Carr University in 2002.
