![]() The Last Roll is a metaphorical series drawing observations on our own mortality as seen through discarded family cameras – their final forgotten memories and the value they once held. ![]() Corky Monuments series began during the Pandemic when I became interested in the ordinary and the mundane. I began to merge discarded everyday objects and materials with more traditional sculpting materials. I was interested in assembling diverse elements, such as textures, colours, surfaces, and forms and the exploration of how subtle additions in shape, texture, colour, and curvature can evoke familiarity, character, personality and story. ![]() "For this collection of artwork, I use bright and bold colours to convey a sense of optimism and hope, thus capturing the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity." -Dana Huhn ![]() At the foundation of the work presented by the five artists in this exhibition is a sensuous experience of land, interdependence, and wayfinding. Whether articulating the relationship between fibre, dye, mordant, soil, and season through colour and cloth, these artists prioritize perception, both the act of seeing and the dynamic participation of body with place. |
