Rojia Dadashzadeh – Corky Monuments Series

District Foyer Gallery 355 West Queens Road, North Vancouver

Corky Monuments series began during the Pandemic when I became interested in the ordinary and the mundane. I began to merge discarded everyday objects and materials with more traditional sculpting materials. I was interested in assembling diverse elements, such as textures, colours, surfaces, and forms and the exploration of how subtle additions in shape, texture, colour, and curvature can evoke familiarity, character, personality and story.

The Sun & the Soil

CityScape Community ArtSpace 335 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver

At the foundation of the work presented by the five artists in this exhibition is a sensuous experience of land, interdependence, and wayfinding. Whether articulating the relationship between fibre, dye, mordant, soil, and season through colour and cloth, these artists prioritize perception, both the act of seeing and the dynamic participation of body with place.
