Find Your Host Venue
Many artists choose to display their work in host venues for the North Shore Art Crawl, locating themselves in an active neighbourhood and deepening relationships with community organizations and local businesses.
This page shows local organizations and businesses who are keen to host an artist for this year’s event.
You can learn more about finding a host venue through the resources linked below.
How to Use this Page: Finding and Booking Your Host Venue
This page is here to help artists learn what host venues are available, what they have to offer, and to communicate with other artists and with North Van Arts that their venue is booked.
There are two very important guidelines you need to know when using this page:
1) BOOKING A HOST VENUE ON THIS PAGE DOES NOT SECURE YOU THE VENUE. To secure your venue, you must talk to them, confirm their interest, and submit your artist registration along with their signed host venue agreement form. You will not be able to register for the Art Crawl without this signed form.
2) DO NOT BOOK A VENUE ON THIS PAGE UNTIL YOU HAVE THEIR CONFIRMATION. Booking a venue confirms to North Van Arts and to participating artists that you will be displaying your artwork at this space. Once you have booked it, it becomes unavailable to other artists, and we will start to programme you into the space. Do not book a venue until you have confirmation from the host that they will be hosting you for the weekend.
Steps for booking a venue
Read through the steps below to learn about how to use this page to find and secure your host venue.
Please note registering to show your work at a host venue is not the same as registering for the North Shore Art Crawl. You will still need to fill out an Artist Registration form.
Explore Your Options
Each booking space on this page shows the details of a host venue interested in hosting an artist for the North Shore Art Crawl. You can click on the images to enlarge them.
Please note that the ‘free’ marker on the side of each space simply means that there isn’t a cost to booking the venue. It does not mean that the space is still available. You will find that information under ‘capacity.’
Some venues have space to host just one artist, and others have space to host multiple. Use the ‘capacity’ section of the form to check if a space still has room for an artist. The first number indications how many spaces are booked, and the second number indications how many spaces total are available. If it reads 0/3, that means there are still three spaces available. If it reads 3/3, that means the space is booked.
Read about the venue
You will be able to see the venue’s address, event hours (11am – 5pm for most venues, 12pm – 6pm for breweries etc), artwork display options, accessibility details, and contact information all on the booking page.
Contact the host (Essential step!)
Use the contact information provided to contact the host venue BEFORE booking the space. Discuss the space they have available, parking, display options, etc, and arrange a time to meet them and view the space.
Book the venue
Once you have spoken with them and confirmed that the venue can host you for the event, use this booking form to book the venue, communicating to other artists and to North Van Arts that you will be at the venue for the weekend.
Have the venue sign the agreement form (essential step!)
You will not be able to register for the North Shore Art Crawl without submitting a signed host venue agreement form, with both your and your host venue’s signatures.
Click ‘Finish’ on your host venue booking to be redirected to the form, or click here to download it. The form can be signed digitally or in print, and will be submitted as part of your artist registration form.
