About the Artist
Christine (Chris) Tunnoch considers herself an unplanned artist. Born with an abundance of creativity and curiosity, drawing was something that came naturally. While working in conservation management, her passion for the natural environment led to sideline projects in illustration. Her work has appeared in various guidebooks such as Stein Valley Wilderness Guidebook and Attracting Backyard Wildlife. She is inspired by the simple grace, texture and vibrant colours of nature and tries to capture that sense of wonder in her work. Chris is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and a Signature Member of Artists for Conservation.
“I’m inspired by the diversity that nature shows us when we take a moment to really look. Whether it’s a flower, a landscape or a creature, they each display their own magical aura. My paintings are my attempt to capture the moment when one stands still long enough to see one small spot in the blur of life.”
