About the Artist

Elaine is a retired elementary school teacher and mostly a self-taught potter of nine years. She has been a participant in the North Shore Art Crawl since 2018 at "The Taj", alongside two talented artists who call themselves "The Taj Collective".Her creations emerge from both Gleneagles Community Studio and North Vancouver Ceramics. Aside from the North Shore Art Crawl, her work has been found at Gleneagles’ sales markets at their Spring and Winter sales and at a variety of other small markets on the North Shore. Otherwise, her work is posted on Instagram under mudmirage where she can be easily contacted. She utilizes clay as her medium for painting, carving and surface marking in a wide variety of ways. Most of her work is functional but she has a special love for creating whimsical items such as fairy houses, garden pagodas and decorative ornaments.
