About the Artist

Born in North Van, Emily loves finding the beautiful, funny, and interesting things in everyday life. She grew up wanting to be Emily Carr and while she has explored many different paths in life, painting is when she feels most present. The West Coast is in her bones and its nature provides a major source of subject matter for Emily’s work. Not one to be pinned down, however, still lifes, portraits, figures, cityscapes and interiors regularly pop up as well. Emily’s style generally dances along the line between abstraction and impressionism, hoping to covey the feel and memory of a place. Acrylics and oils are her primary mediums.
