About the Artist

Estelle Liebenberg, a.k.a. Nomad Soul, was born and raised in South Africa. She has lived in North Vancouver, Canada since 1997. She graduated with degrees in Political Science and Journalism, and worked in the film industry both in South Africa and Canada for almost two decades. Involved with different art forms since childhood, she started working with clay as a teenager, training with a number of potters both in South African and in Vancouver, Canada. She is also an experienced metal smith. She has received all of her metal smithing training from gold smiths in Vancouver. Passionate about the design aesthetic of tribal art from her native continent, Estelle draws a great deal of inspiration from her roots. She loves the stripped down lines and the soft geometry of Africa, and applies them to both functional and decorative clay pieces as well as metal jewellery
