About the Artist

Born in a small town in the Russian Far East, Janna was educated as a psychologist, but a move to Vancouver in 2004 changed her career unexpectedly. The beauty of the Pacific West coast inspired Janna so deeply that she began to express her fascination through painting. She studied art in Capilano and Emily Carr Universities, and in the London Fine Art Studios in the UK. She likes capturing a sense of the unique inner ‘spirit’ of any subject - a landscape, figure, flower - and shares her delight with the viewers. "I chose to work in the Impressionist style with its freedom of using colour, light and loose brush strokes, but I love challenges and experiments, and I've recently been working on a series of abstract paintings”. Her mediums are mainly oil ,watercolour and pastels. Janna is an Active Member of Federation of Canadian Artists; she exhibited in Vancouver, Saint Petersburg and London UK; her art is now in the private collections in Europe, Asia and North America.
