About the Artist

Jilly has a passion for hiking in the West-Coast rainforests, and this love of the outdoors is reflected in her paintings. Jilly has been interested in drawing and painting since a child but has only been seriously painting since her retirement from teaching in 2000, and her move to Bowen Island. In the summertime Jilly likes to paint plein air in our wonderful B.C. Landscape. At other times she paints from photographs in her studio. In the last twenty years, Jilly has exhibited in the Federation Gallery, Bowen Island Art Gallery, North Shore Unitarian Church, Harmony Arts, Lonsdale Quay Brushstroke Gallery, City Scapes, the West Vancouver Memorial Library and the Silk Purse Gallery in West Vancouver . She is currently an exhibitor in the "32 Books Art Gallery" in Edgemont Village, North Vancouver, and an associate artist member of the "Catching Stars Gallery " on Bowen Island. Jilly is an active member of the Federation of Canadian artists.
