About the Artist

Kirsty Babcock I first got truly excited about jewellery making after a trip to the town of Taxco in Mexico, famous for its silver jewellery production. There I was inspired by the artisans and the tremendous selection of beads and materials. Upon returning home, I began to explore and immerse myself in the jewellery making process, mainly for my own interest. As time went on, I realized family and friends also preferred wearing handmade jewellery and I was eager to take courses and build my skills. I’m particularly drawn to incorporating random shaped gem stones, crystals, and beads with silver and gold wire, and chain. I have been a vendor at various markets, conventions and festivals and it has been highly motivating to meet, connect and respond to people and their jewellery preferences.
