Faria Firoz is a Bangladeshi-born artist whose expressive, symbolic paintings address the struggles of women who immigrate to Canada in abusive relationships, who must also navigate unfamiliar culture, language & customs to find their own power. Harem Jamal is a Kurdish artist from Iraq, whose childhood was spent in a refugee camp. His bold, realistic paintings explore the experiences of children displaced from their communities, surrounded by war, searching for a hopeful future.
