Andrea draws inspiration for her artistic practice of eco-printing from nature’s botanical realm in all of its seasonal cycles. She considers the plants to be the artists and she the assistant enabling them to release and imprint their true moody colours onto paper and fabric. Foraging in forests, seasides, and gardens for leaves, petals, berries, herbs, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds has fostered a relationship and appreciation between herself and the natural world. Employing raw plant materials, rain, sea water, stone, and heat to extract colours often entices ethereal images and enchanting understories to magically emerge for those with eyes to see. Everything this colour infusion process leaves its signature upon is one of a kind including clothing, scarves, journals, greeting cards and framed paper eco-prints.
