Anita has explored many styles, in particular the gestural style in a homage to Jackson Pollack, was her inspiration. Abstract faces and figures are created with strong colors and a multitude of lines, emanating from a dream state, rather than reality. Use of the palette knife produces the texture that distances art from photography. She was previously a weaver, designing clothing mainly by texture and color, rather than conservative patterns.
As a guild member for many years, she has advanced her creativity through workshops and art classes at Emily Carr.
