Britt MacLeod is a Vancouver-based multidisciplinary artist.
A graduate of Capilano University’s Musical Theatre Program, she works as an actor, singer, composer-lyricist, spoken word/interdisciplinary-artist, writer, and teacher. Her written work has been featured in In Bloom Magazine, RFD Magazine, and the anthology/album, Stories, by the band, Hildegard’s Ghost. She is the Composer/Lyricist for the new musical, Carry On, which was the winning piece at Awkward Stage Productions’ inaugural 24 Hour Musical Smackdown Competition. Carry On was developed into an extended one-act musical which premiered at the 2016 Vancouver Fringe Festival and won ‘Pick of The Fringe’; Britt also featured in a lead role. Other performance credits include: Hamelin: A New Fable, Axis Theatre; Crazy For You, Gateway Theatre; The Light In The Piazza, Patrick Street Productions and Persephone Theatre; BC BUDS Festival; Arts On The Fly Festival; Dances For A Small Stage, MovEnt; Featured Performer and Semi-Finalist at the 2014 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word; and the 2010 Winter Olympics. Britt also sings with the jazz group Ladybird, and writes songs for and fronts the pop project, Rio By Night. Rio By Night’s first full-length album, Yet The World, will be released later this year.
