Rooted in the traditional, ancestral, and stolen territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking peoples, Daphne Woo 胡可欣 is a Vancouver-born artist of Chinese ancestry whose practice weaves together textiles, teaching, and community care.

A decade in the Netherlands with her partner, Noud de Rover, reshaped her sense of belonging and deepened her reflections on migration, identity, and adaptation. Trained in Fashion Design & Technology at KPU, Daphne built her early career in technical outerwear and men’s sportswear with Nike European Headquarters, Asics Europe B.V., and lululemon athletica—experiences that broadened her creative and cultural perspective.

Since 2016, her work has turned toward art, education, and reconnection with land. Adventures on the Yukon River, travels in Asia, and permaculture study inspired the revival of Amacata Design Concepts—her studio devoted to natural materials, dye processes, and community-rooted practice.

Today, Daphne’s interdisciplinary work embraces art-making, teaching, and (un)learning. Studies in Community Capacity Building, Biomedical Visualization & Communication, and Grief & Loss Coaching nourish an evolving practice that integrates craft, care, and connection.
