Heather is an internationally recognized Canadian glass artist based in North Vancouver, BC. She has been working with hot glass since 2002, developing a distinctive body of hand-blown and hand-sculpted glass inspired by the beauty and energy of the natural world.
Her work reflects a deep connection to the Pacific Northwest landscape, particularly the mountains, forests, waterways and coastline surrounding her North Vancouver home. Heather is drawn to the way glass can capture light, movement, colour and texture, and her pieces often evoke water, shoreline, sea life, birds and the organic forms found in nature. Her collection includes sculptural shoreline vessels, jellyfish, starfish, anemones, birds, trees, hearts, bud vases and ocean-inspired dishes and paperweights.
Heather holds a BFA in Glass with Distinction from the Alberta University of the Arts and has studied and worked internationally, including in Australia and England. Her career has taken her across Canada and overseas, and her work has been exhibited and sold through galleries, craft organizations and retail venues. She also shares her knowledge through teaching glassblowing at Terminal City Glass Co-op in Vancouver.
From her home studio in North Vancouver and at Terminal City Glass Co-op, Heather continues to design and create one-of-a-kind and small-batch pieces that bring a sense of nature, beauty and joy into everyday spaces. Each piece is made by hand in Canada and reflects her belief in the possibilities of glass as both a functional material and a form of sculpture.
