Isabelle Caillet was born in Paris, France. She also lived in countries like Asia and North Africa before settling in Vancouver in 2000.
In 2007, she developed an interest in the fluid technic of pouring cup of acrylic paint. This seemingly random application reveals colour contrasts and forms that dance on the canvas and create atmospheric effects, with incandescent textures resembling craters and lava flows. Her intuitive creative process works with the effects of chance and the unpredictability of the visual result, making each of her canvas unique and impossible to reproduce.
