Growing up in North Van – the mountains were my back yard and the waterfront my go to hangout. Now living on the Sunshine Coast I get to enjoy all those things and still make trips to paint and explore the Sea to Sky corridor and the North Shore.
My professional and commercial art career is winding down – not so much illustration or graphic design demands these days. I choose to follow my passion and work on location painting “en Plein Air” and finding inspiration for larger works back in the studio. How fortunate we live in SUCH an amazing place.
I have been teaching for over 30 years, (including Cap College and OPUS) and now have a small gallery in my home overlooking Howe Sound. I look forward to connecting with my local peers and supporting arts activities on the North Shore.
Jan is a signature member of the Canadian Artist Federation and founding member of the Coast Cultural Alliance – featured in the Purple Banner studio tour and Art Crawl on the Sunshine Coast.
