Jeanette Jarville is a contemporary Canadian artist residing in Richmond, BC, Canada. She had a natural talent as a child and began oil painting at the age of 11. Jeanette graduated High School with Honors and an art scholarship, and was accepted into Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design. She was awarded four scholarships while there and received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art, in 1996. She also took the opportunity to study art in Berlin, Germany for 8 months.
Jeanette paints on canvas as well as glass, a unique process where the work is painted on the back and viewed from the front. Beginning with the artists signature, painted backwards, and all highlights and closest images painted first. She finds this very challenging for once a brushstroke is made it cannot be painted over. The luminosity and richness of color that is achieved with this method is unmatched by any other. Bold and colorful compositions with “lots of drama” is what Jeanette finds most exciting about her work .
Jeanette’s art can be found in private and corporate collections in Canada, USA and Europe. She has shown throughout the years in many exhibitions locally and internationally and has received awards and acclamation for her work.
