I have been teaching textile related courses and workshops since 1995. As an instructor, I have taught mainly batik on paper, batik on fabric, and shibori. After all these years in the field, I have adapted the content of my courses to different lengths of time, varying between 12 hours and 6 months. I have worked in art festivals, art and summer schools, private studios, conferences, and universities in Brazil, Canada, and USA.
I create textile wearable and home furnishing objects, using a wide range of fabrics that I design and dye in my studio. I have explored many different processes for surface design such as batik, screen printing, embroidery, and stamping. During the last ten years my work has been focused mainly on the shibori technique, which I use to produce scarves, legwear, clothing for women and infants, and fiber jewelry.
