My art features scenes of urban locations painted in watercolour mounted on cradled wooden panels. In my latest series I focus on places where people gather within the city. Searching out older buildings for their interesting design details I also look for unique stores and locations featuring signs with people in and around the location. I design a balanced layout after taking many photos, and drawing onto a quality watercolour paper. I apply watercolour paint in layers from light to dark slowly building the scene and focusing on the colours and details. I strive to create a mood and a feeling of a special moment. When finished there is no glass covering needed once the painting is protected with fixative and wax.
