I received my BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and my MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, California. As a way to engage with my art community, I have volunteered as Vice President, Board of Directors at the Seymour Art Gallery, North Vancouver, BC and on the Board of Directors for the Contemporary Art Society of Vancouver as Chair, Artist Prize. My artwork has been shown and collected in Canada, USA, and Europe.
I live and work in North Vancouver, BC, Canada, as a guest on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw, Stó:l?, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.
My paintings are colourful and fluid abstractions which represent my fascination with the chaos in one’s life, no matter how carefully planned. Working with acrylic and acrylic inks I allow the flow to ‘do its own thing’ layer upon layer, creating organic forms. This creates a rapport with me as I domesticate the fluid chaos, influencing the focus of the work. The intuitive, bold, and energetic paintings are a synergistic process of letting go, then transforming the spontaneous gestural abstractions into images of significance.
