Born in 1947, Susanne’s life journey has taken her from Europe to South America, to USA and to Canada last in 1979, where she has happily lived since.Initially an art student at Atelier Josse in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Susanne continued her formal education in the USA and in Canada. She attended college, the University of Alberta, and the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, B.C.
Two subjects occupy most of her painting hours: figures and landscapes.Susanne is a studio based figure and portrait painter, who works from life and mostly in oil on canvas. In her compositions she seeks to explore the subject’s characteristics using interesting angles and cropping. In the last four years her attention has also turned to en plein air painting, where she enjoys synthesizing the Vancouver area landscapes every week. Plein air painting now comprises most of her work.
A painter for 25 years she has exhibited in several galleries and numerous group exhibitions in Alberta and in British Columbia. Susanne also has a strong commitment to fund raising events. Her work can be found in private and public collections throughout Canada, Argentina and Germany.
