Therese aims is to capture an honest thought, a genuine mood or a daring dream and paint the world – one story at the time. She is passionate about drawing and painting figures and thoroughly enjoys seeing how personality and temperament come into being from an empty canvas. Her figures portray ladies caught in a moment in time. Although these moments might be sad, tough, unfair or undesired, Therese focuses on that flicker of hope, that unseen beauty and strength which hides inside her subjects. For this reason, facial expressions are mostly pensive.
Therese was born and educated in Switzerland. After her teaching career she became a full time artist and taught art to children and adults. Now she is creative intuitive works out of her home based studio in North Vancouver.
